Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS YOUR NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?
DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
At your first appointment we'll start by reviewing your health history and discuss your treatment goals. This is followed by a physical assessment of your body's posture, structure and quality of movement, and an evaluation of cranial and visceral motility. We'll make a treatment plan and complete an Osteopathic treatment during this first session. We will review relevant home-care exercises and ideas about how to optimize the effects of the treatment, and discuss the next steps in your future treatment plan.
You do not need a doctor's referral to see an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner. Please check with your extended health benefits insurance plan regarding coverage for Osteopathy. We provide receipts for reimbursement, we do not offer direct billing of insurance plans.
Please bring loose-fitting or comfortable athletic-wear for your assessment and treatment. This is optimal to best assess all relevant areas of your body. We can accommodate treatments with patients wearing regular casual clothing or work-wear, as well. We will email you a link to a secure online health history form; please complete this intake form in advance of your first treatment.
